Our Good Works
The Directed Electronics Charitable Foundation (now the DEI Children’s
Charitable Foundation) was established “to improve the quality of life for
disadvantaged children in the communities in which we do business.”
The Foundation has raised millions of dollars with the support of our
own staff, corporate partners, local businesses and individual donors helping tens of thousands of
children in need. Beneficiaries include the Boys & Girls Clubs of Vista, Oceanside, San Clemente, San Marcos, CA and of Greater Metropolitan Baltimore, MD. The Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place for children to learn and grow – all while having fun. It is the place where great futures are started each and every day. Other beneficiaries include Casa de Amparo, San Diego, CA who sustains those affected by and at risk of child abuse and neglect, through a range of programs & services that promote healing, growth and healthy relationships; and Solutions For Change, San Diego, CA providing solutions for homeless children and their families by engaging and energizing the entire community to provide permanent solutions to homelessness.
The Foundation has also reacted to natural disasters around the world by donating to earthquake relief in Haiti, and earthquake/typhoon relief in Asia, helping families rebuild their lives after these devastating events.
The DEI Children’s Charitable Foundation makes it possible for our beneficiaries to upgrade their facilities, support essential programs, purchase much needed supplies, and most importantly, help underserved children. The Foundation’s goal is to continue to distribute roughly half of all funds raised in any year directly to carefully screened and deserving organizations that share our goal of helping children in need. The balance of the funds are invested to provide a perpetual annuity to allow the Foundation to continue to generously donate to these worthy causes for many years to come.
